Our experienced design team will guide you through the process of your renovation to create a home that is tailored to your family’s needs, reflects your personal style, and welcomes you home at the end of a long day. We’ll work hard through the entire process, from meeting with your contractors to final installation of furniture, to ensure your home renovation delivers everything that your home is missing, and more.
The entire experience of working with New South Home was absolutely fabulous! With your design plan finalized, we collaborate directly with your general contractor to ensure every selection is executed with precision. We’ll develop a detailed finish schedule and meet onsite with both you and your contractor to walk through each room, confirm material placement, and align on construction details. This step ensures a smooth transition from design to build — minimizing surprises and setting your project up for a successful transformation.
On Install Day, we bring your vision to life — overseeing deliveries, coordinating installations, and styling each space with thoughtful detail and personalization. Every element is placed with intention to ensure your home feels uniquely yours and exceeds your expectations. After your reveal, we manage any final touches, and with your permission, coordinate a professional photoshoot to beautifully capture your home for marketing and editorial features.
Client Onboarding and Initial Consult
Duration: Approximately 2 weeks to 1 month
At the beginning of the design process, your NSH Design Team will visit you at home to see the spaces and discuss the details of your project, including the scope of work, how your family will utilize the spaces, your design inspiration, and talk through our initial ideas for your spaces.
Afterward, we’ll create a detailed Scope of Work Proposal for you to review. With your approval, our team will begin working to reinvent and refine your home. If new room layouts are needed for the renovation, we’ll provide an estimate for the number of design hours that we’ll be using to create and review.
Developing Your Customized Design Plan
Duration: Approximately 2 months
Your NSH Design Team begins their work by creating room and furniture layouts for each space that you’ll discuss and review via video conference. When we have these layouts finalized, we’ll set up meetings with your preferred general contractor or our recommended contractor and gather estimates for labor and materials.
After you’ve selected a general contractor and approved their bid, we’ll provide options for furnishings, artwork, and décor for your spaces in subsequent video conference meetings.
When it’s time to finalize the details of your project, you’ll be invited into our Design Studio to see, touch, and feel all finishes and samples in person. We’ll make the final decisions together and review renderings of your spaces with selections in place to ensure you love your unique design plan.
Project Execution
Duration: Varies based on project scope and contractor
Now we’re ready to execute! Your Design Team will create finish schedules to ensure your project is on track and will meet with you and the general contractor on site so we can review all construction documents, room layouts, and selections.
As the renovation moves forward, we’ll attend scheduled walk-throughs with the contractor and will coordinate any subcontractors needed for things like lighting, wallpaper, and fixture deliveries. We’ll also place all orders for your project and handle the tracking, shipment, inspection, and delivery of every item.
We’ll keep you updated on the project status through regular email communication from your Design Team. When the renovation portion of the project is complete, we’ll reach out to schedule your Install Day to deliver furnishings and décor.
Installation
Duration: ½ day to 2 days
Installation days are our favorite days. Our team arrives with everything needed to install the spaces we’ve designed and works with our delivery partners and other subcontractors to place and install all items. Your Design Team will style the spaces to ensure an inspired and personalized result.
When the installation is complete, we’ll host you on a grand reveal tour, tie up any loose ends, and allow your family to begin enjoying your new spaces!
Follow-Up
Duration: As needed
We work hard throughout the design process to ensure all pieces are moving smoothly, but we do occasionally have items that require follow-up. We’ll reach out after Install Day to handle any extra details or answer any questions you may have.
After installation, you may be contacted by our Marketing Manager to set up a professional photoshoot of your spaces for our use in marketing, social media, and media publications.
