Since launching New South Home in 2011, Melissa has had the opportunity to work on countless projects ranging from small room updates to full home remodels including kitchens and bathrooms. Her experience as a fashion retail buyer taught her how to select the right furnishings for her Southern clients, creating a perfect balance between upcoming trends and classic style. Her design work has been featured in Charlotte Observer, QC Exclusive, Charlotte Agenda, and Charlotte Magazine and has won numerous accolades from her clients and peers. Her design team has won “Best of Houzz” for five years running in Customer Satisfaction based on personal reviews submitted by their clients.
When working on any design project, Melissa’s main focus is to create a comfortable and inviting space that reflects each client’s personal style. She likes to ensure that each space has a function for her clients’ lifestyle and will stand up to everyday life, especially considerate of children and pets living in the home. She excels in creating beautiful rooms from empty spaces and loves the challenge of designing each home to fit within her client’s individual tastes, budget, and family life.
INTERIOR DESIGNER - KITCHEN AND BATH
Ashley’s father was in the Army and by the time she was 18, she had lived in 15 houses all across the country. Ashley loved moving because a new house meant new walls to decorate and new rooms to arrange. She would often rearrange furniture instead of playing with toys and saved her allowance for things like a new duvet cover or accessories for her room. Ashley perused her passion for interior design by going to High Point University and graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Interior Design. Since graduating in 2014, Ashley has challenged herself to learn and experience all types of designs. She has created window displays for well-known brands, renovated homes, designed custom homes, and is now focusing on her favorite rooms to design - kitchen and baths! When Ashley isn’t designing, you can find her with a power tool working on her latest DIY project or enjoying a night in with her husband, daughter, and 3 rescue dogs!
Sandy was born in Atlanta and her family moved to Charlotte when she was 6 months old. She has really seen this city grow over the years! Her husband comes from generations of “Matthewsians” (or Matthews natives)! They have a beautiful daughter Nicki, born here in Charlotte in 2003. She has always followed the latest fashion trends and spent most of her career working in retail management. After having her daughter, she went to work with her sister in law in the world of NASCAR. She also spent time in a seamstress work room assisting with creating custom home décor. She joined New South Home in October of 2013 and has been a big part in the company's growth. Her established relationships with New South Home's vendors and subcontractors ensure that each project runs smoothly. She enjoys going to work everyday because she never knows what next creative project will be on the list. Sandy enjoys finding inspiration from resources like Pinterest, Instagram, and Houzz. Gathering rooms and styles that appeal to you helps us get a feel for the direction you are headed. She is personally drawn to a neutral palette with clean lines. She likes to keep it classic with a lean towards what is on trend.
Meet Annmarie! Annmarie comes to New South Home with over 15 years of Project Coordination experience. After multiple home remodel projects and building a new home with her husband, she very quickly realized how passionate she was about design, timeline delivery and product commitment. She really wants to help others with details and making sure that their project is brilliantly executed. At New South Home she works with an incredible team and gets to do what she loves on a daily basis!
With over 5 years of design and marketing experience, Sarah knew she could help make a difference for digital brands across social media. She is passionate about visual story telling and serving others, and enjoys going to work every day because of ladies like those of New South Home. Sarah enjoys organizing photoshoots, designing and updating the website for future and current clients, and curating New South Home's social media feed for others to enjoy.
OFFICE MANAGER AND ACCOUNTANT
Sarah has been in the accounting field for the past 20 years. She took a break for the past 5 years, and has spent her time volunteering at her children’s schools and in the community. Recently, she has decided to come back to work and has joined New South Home as her children are moving onto college.
CLIENT CARE SPECIALIST
Taylor’s passion for interior design started at an early age. While growing up in Syracuse, NY, you could often find her creating dream homes for her dolls, rearranging her bedroom, and dreaming up room designs while browsing the latest Pottery Barn Catalogs. In 2013 Taylor earned her Interior Design Degree from Cazenovia College, in Cazenovia, NY. She landed her first job as a Design Assistant at a high end design firm in Rochester. During her time there she gained a lot of experience with the design process, working with clients, and how a design business ran on a day-to-day basis. In 2014 Taylor and her husband relocated to Charlotte to start a new life in the south! She joined the New South Home team as Client Care Specialist and was able to bring her experience of project management to the team.
